Yes it's normal you need a exfoliate to get rid of it proactive helped me and it's been years for me I had severe and tried everything even expensive crap now don't pick and water will def help trust me

Perfectly normal, I had acne too. You should use a warm facecloth to remove the dead skin off and rinse with water. There are many meds now to help get rid of acne, it's not really a hygiene thing.
It starts under your skin and you should use today's drugs to keep it at bay.
