Using levothyroxine for weightloss?
Peaches Asked: Using levothyroxine for weightloss?
I suspect I have an underactive thyroid. I've gained weight, suffer with depression and fatigue and other symptons of it. Plus both my parents suffer with underactive thyroids too.
If i was to take thyroxine, 200mg a day, what the likelihood of weight loss?
I'm aware of the dangers with the heart, eyes etc.
Basically i'm asking if it is possible to self induce hyperthyroidism?
Many thanks!

Ok…
Your mom has yhour best interests at heart-If you dont believe this than you have worse problems.
Your therapist went to school for close to 10 ears to be where she is, she is professional.
Both of these people are in the business of helping you.
If this is a problem the relationship between your mother and thier loved one, then confront your mother and tell her your feelings.
Take your time, calm down, and talk it out.
I promise it will be ok.
Good Luck
There shouldn't be a problem with your mother being friends with his wife. He has confidentiality laws he has to follow, so your therapist shouldn't be telling his wife anything you say.I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. Unless you overreacted and let on you were a client, she might not still know you are. Privileged information the law even has to get special authority to get patient information.
